Diagnostics

The diagnosis is established on the basis of anamnestic, laboratory data and the results of an instrumental examination.

Check-up plan:

  • Examination, palpation of the mammary glands and regional lymph nodes, medical history, family history
  • Clinical blood and urine analysis
  • Biochemical blood test with assessment of liver and kidney function, determination of glucose, calcium levels
  • Hemostasis system diagnostics
  • Bilateral mammography + ultrasound of the mammary glands and regional lymph nodes
  • MRI, if age is up to 30 years, presence of BRCA1 / 2 mutations, high radiological density of mammary glands, presence of mammary gland implants, lobular carcinoma in situ
  • X-ray / CT / MRI of the chest
  • Ultrasound / CT / MRI of the abdominal cavity and small pelvis
  • Biopsy of the tumor with pathomorphological examination of the tumor tissue, determination of the histological variant of the tumor and the grade of malignancy; determination of ER, PR, HER2 and Ki67 in tumor tissue
  • FSH, serum estradiol to assess ovarian function
  • Determination of BRCA1 / 2 germinal mutations by NGS (or first by PCR for the most common mutations)
